An extra 3500 miles in 2008?

One hundred miles a week is 5200 miles per year. On the one hand, that's slightly more than three times what I did in 2007. On the other hand, it's only 14 miles a day.

Give it a go, might be a fun challenge :)

How hard can it be...

It can't be that hard. It's not like I'm trying to ride every day for 500+ days or anything silly like that.

Exactly :)
My first 100 miles are done and dusted, lots to go!

I've done 18 miles so far. Should have done 70 to be on track for 5200 for the year. Maybe I should be aiming for 5200km.

That sounds more realistic. Trying to triple your mileage is quite an undertaking really :)

Yeah, averaging nine miles a day should be easier, although it's still doubling my mileage. 100km a week is a nice round number, so I might go for that.

100 miles a week is also a nice round number, but 5,280 x 100 isn't really as round as the metric system... ;)

If you averaged 10 miles a day and then 50 miles on the weekends, it might work (as would those numbers in Km). Just depends on how much you want to challenge yourself. Best of Luck either way!

Damn non-metric year :)

Making sure I keep right on top of mine is working out quite well at the moment. I'm sure it'll fall off in the next couple of months but it's a good start. Key is to use a bike that requires no maintenance. ;-)

My current daily average is enough to get me 1200 miles for the year. Just 500 miles less than each of the last two years...

It should pick up soon :)
